"The original idea for TimeSwan came in 2016 when I was fighting cancer at Mayo Clinic. Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota has helped so many people. From wealthy to poor, it’s history is amazing. The wealthy have donated art, built buildings, and given massive donations as an expression of their gratitude. You can find many of their names and stories on plaques on the walls which will be there forever.

 

But as I walked around Mayo Clinic’s campus over the years, I thought about my own story and the people around me. The nurse rushing to help a patient, the janitor smiling to help a sick woman find her way, a sick daughter crying on her mother’s shoulder.  What about their stories?  They won’t have buildings named after them, but their stories are unique and beautiful ones that their family and friends will cherish. That is our main goal with TimeSwan; help people record their stories so they won’t be forgotten like “tears in rain”, the famous bladerunner analogy.
